Well, with not much drifting happening now BDC season is over, i turn my attention to mud and my truck.
I took my friend Johnny along for the bumpy ride and he has kindly taken some rather ace photo's capturing the day's fun!

Recently my love for Kei cars has come under heavy stress from myself after the arrival of a Toyota iq!! I admit, that this is not technically a kei car due to it's 1000cc engine, but it's a damn fine car!!

Winch bumper for trev.

Recently a friend of mine gave me first dibs on his old winch bumper. The price was right so i had to have it lol.
Sadly it looks like it has never seen a jet wash or even a clean. There was quite abit of mud to deal with before i went about de-rusting.
It hasn't taken much to get it off. I used some detox-c rust gel and left for 30-40mins. This then eats away the rust and turns the gel into a dark colour. You then wash off with water.
After succeeding from the gel. I have given it some anti rust metal paint and is now looking almost like new!
Next step is to get the old bumper off without too much hassle and get this hench piece on. There will be some slight trimming of the body to get a nice snug fit of the winch.
I look forward to having it up and running soon! Havn't been for a play in the mud for a while now lol

BDC Round 2 - Norfolk

The weekend just past held round 2 of the BDC situated at Norfolk arena.
Was a great weekend with lots of good driving, and great driving shown from Super Pro's!
I managed to qualify 12th and battled it all the way to a 4th place finish! Pretty happy with the cars performance over the weekend and as well as my result!

BDC Round 1 & GTR wheels!

Well round 1 was a success in my books as the car was spot on all day. It handled great after having the camber increased on the front and the rear toe'd in. I had a slight misfire due to factory coil pack playing up. The track itself was great, fast and flowing. All 3rd gear bar the last corner which was 2nd. The new short-shift that i fitted during the week also came into it's own on the day and was a pleasure changing down :)
Sadly i didn't get into top 16, but i'm not bummed as i was going to round 1 with it being a test bed for what i need to improve on for the coming rounds.
One of my decisions was to buy another set of wheels with tyres on so that i can simply throw another set on in the pits. This rids of the problem that is waiting for the tyre guy haha.
I have opted for a set of R33 GTR wheels in 17inch. Hopefully with my low power this will give me some advantage :)
I'm not bothered about the wheel arch gap that might appear with the 17's as it's all about the driving hahaha!!

Recently i purchased some Driftworks LCA's from a friend of mine to achieve more front camber on the front, as well as a wider track.
They were chipped up and looking abit aged. So out came the rattle cans :P

This is Trevor. My new winter project. So far the word project has been firmly put into place. I honestly don't even know how i drove the car home the night i picked it up. Or even for small jouney's locally for that matter, as there were major clutch hydraulic faults. Both master and slave cylinders both shot to bits. This resulting in me having no clutch one morning.....
Secondly, a previous owner has gone buck wild with scotch locks on most of the wiring. The electrics are a right mess and it's a total lash up lol.
Land Rovers for you.....
But the beauty of it all is that parts are cheap, it's easy to fix and work on, and has real character.
I have attatched a few pics from when i bought Trev.

BDC Round 5. Knockhill

Well round five was a big swirl pot of emotions. Saturday was almost a complete wash-out as my first and only practice session of the day was ruined by a newly fitted hydro handbrake failing on the first corner! So after spending all of Saturday trying to fix a brake fuid leak aswell as other hydro related issues i managed to get the car track worthy just in time for my qualifying runs!
I'd like to thank Ali at the garage in the pit area for spending alot of time getting the car sorted for me.
I managed to qualify 8th, which i was bound over by, after the day looked like it was down the pan.
Sunday started out with dry runs which opened my eyes to the corners i had to negociate. They took me back abit! I think they also had the same effect with the other drivers who were also finding it hard to get to grips with.
The car was still not feeling all that great. Standard handbrake was touch and go and car had developed a missfire. I managed to get a grip of the line and my confidence later on.
Thanks to Steve from Skylineowners who kindly helped me with the missfire problem which turned out to be worn plugs.
